Both Things Are True

· Unique Soul

There’s this weird part of growing that nobody really talks about.

You start seeing things differently. Yourself. Other people. Your habits. Your reactions. The things you used to think you needed. You become more aware of what feels aligned and what doesn’t.

And then you still get annoyed.

You still overthink.

You still want to control things you already know you need to let go of.

You can believe everything happens for a reason and still be like, “Okay, but why the hell is this happening?”

You can practice gratitude and still have a day where you don’t feel grateful for ish.

You can know you need to surrender and still spend three hours trying to figure out how everything is going to work out.

I think sometimes we make inner growth way too pretty.

Like once you become more conscious, you’re supposed to be calm all the time. Patient. Forgiving. Grounded. Unbothered. Like you’ve unlocked some secret level of humanity where nothing gets under your skin anymore.

Nah.

You’re still you.

The difference is that you start catching yourself.

You notice the reaction before you act on it. You notice when you’re trying to force something. You notice when your ego is talking. You notice when you’re avoiding something you already know you need to face.

And sometimes you still do the thing anyway.

That’s part of it too.

I don’t think growth means becoming a completely different person. I think it’s becoming more honest about the person you already are.

You can be deeply connected and still confused.

You can have faith and still be scared.

You can know better and still mess up.

You can be at peace with something and still have moments where it pisses you off.

You can be grateful for your life and still want certain things to change.

None of that cancels out the work you’re doing.

Maybe the goal was never to become some perfectly healed, endlessly peaceful version of yourself.

Maybe it’s just learning how to move through life with a little more awareness than you had before.

Still human.

Just awake enough to notice.
